Wedding veils
Your veil can draw a line behind you, repeat a detail from the gown or leave its surface visible through plain tulle. With DAMA Couture wedding veils, that choice begins with what you want to show. Consider the edge as carefully as the length, and imagine it with your hairstyle. Ask a DAMA partner in the UK about the individual veil and how to compare it with your dress.
Where do wedding veils place their decoration?
The Apolonia veil keeps the upper tulle plain and places floral lace around the lower edge of its cathedral-length outline. A comb gathers it at the crown, with a single sheer tier falling behind you. That arrangement leaves the gown visible through the area near your shoulders.
The pearl veil takes another approach, scattering hand-sewn pearls over one layer of tulle. Its product description gives an approximate length of two and a half metres. Compare the placement of the details, not only the label attached to the length.
Would dots work with the pattern of your gown?
The Snowdrop veil uses irregular dots on ecru tulle and is described as roughly two and a half metres long. The repeated small marks create a different surface from a continuous lace border.
Compare that rhythm with the motifs of a lace gown, or see it against the less decorated surface of a simple dress. Neither pairing is a rule. What matters is whether you like the amount of detail when the pieces are together, including the view from the side.
What needs confirming before you choose the veil?
Ask your chosen UK DAMA boutique about the separate veil’s availability and fastening. Discuss its position with your planned hairstyle and where the edge will fall against your train. If you want to remove it after the ceremony, ask how that works with the hairstyle you intend to keep. Compare the shade beside the gown rather than on a screen.
